Recommended Brakes, Hub/Drum Assemblies And Axle-Less Suspension System For Tandem Axle Car Hauler

Question:

I have a trailer with a 14inch drum and 5 x 5 1/2inch bolt pattern on both axles. The drum is rusted / worn and the electric brake mechanism is missing altogether. Id like to replace the hub + drum and add new brakes. The bearings have the following stamped numbers and measurements: Inner Seal: 205015 Inner Bearing: 1.3inch ID, Timken LM48548 Outer Bearing: 0.84inch ID, Timken M12649 Do you know what hub + drum would fit this spindle? Id really rather not weld a new spindle on or replace the axle. This is for a twin axle car trailer. Thank you!

Unfortunately the bearing sizes are not for any standard spindle sizes. I'm afraid that we don't have anything that will fit those spindles.

My recommendation is to use the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Straight Spindle Only - 3,500 lbs # ASR3500S05. This is a bolt on system that uses either a cross brace or a 2 inch square tube for connection instead of a thru-axle. For this system, I recommend using the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA along with the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 5-1/2 # AKHD-555-35-EZ-K. These combinations will give you a 7,000 lb capacity on your tandem axle trailer.
