Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring When Right Turn Signal Not Working

I have a 4 lead wire connector from car to a 4 lead with 5 wires on boat trailer wired by dealer. R turn signal doesnt work. Left works fine. Can you help?

It sounds like you have wishbone wiring on your boat trailer. I have attached a photo of the trailer side connector and you can see the 5-wires coming out of the back of the connector.

The White wire is for the ground and should be secured to the trailer. The Yellow is for the left turn signal and the Green is for the right turn signal. The Brown wires are run down each side of the trailer for the running lights and taillights.

Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and check the output pins on your vehicle while someone runs through the functions. If that checks out, inspect the trailer connector and make sure there are no damaged pins or corrosion. If everything looks good plug in the connector and start checking the green wire from the back of the trailer connector rearward to the taillight. You may find the wire has a crimp or pinch or possibly broken. If not look at the taillight itself. Make sure the bulb is good and if the light is grounded through the mounting hardware make sure it is secure and corrosion free.
