Rear Yakima Roof Rack Bar Sits Higher than Front Bar on a 2016 Toyota Avalon

Using all the recommended settings and measurements Yakama provide for my 2016 Avalon the rear jet stream bar sits 1 inch higher than the front. Is that normal?

You will want the front and rear crossbars on your Yakima roof rack level on your 2016 Toyota Avalon. So in other words the rear bar should not be higher than the front bar. With the BaseLine Towers, # Y00146, the pitch setting (P1) should be at A for the front feet. The rear pitch (P2) should be at C. According to Yakima this will make the front feet tilt forward 6 degrees and rear feet 6 degrees to the rear.

You can also check the adapter seat that allows the bars to attach to the towers. The adapter seat is supposed to be level with the seat tabs

Also, make sure you are using the BaseClip 130 on the front and BasClip 131 on the rear. With all of the possible adjustments possible on these feet you might find that on your particular model something will need to be adjusted differently. But the bottom line is that you do want the bars level with each other.
