Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver And Towing Components For 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
Question:
I have a 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Impreza frame. I am looking for a trailer hitch that is easy to install and can handle like a 4 by 6 or 6 by 8 trailer. Im not sure if thats light or medium duty. Is there one that you recommend? Thank you.

Your 2011 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport has a towing capacity of 1000 lbs and max tongue weight of 200 lbs. As long as you trailer and load is less than these numbers, you will not have any issue.
If you have the single exhaust, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # DT24959, but if you have the quad exhaust I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11120.
For a ball mount, I recommend the Sportframe Drawbar 2-1/8" Rise or 2-3/4" Drop 2000 lb Kit # 3593 along with a hitch ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball to match your trailer coupler.
For your trailer connection wiring, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56111. This wiring harness connects to your factory wiring behind the tail lights and a power lead runs to the battery to protect your vehicle wiring from overdraw. I've attached an article to assist with running this power wire to your battery.
