Recommended Over-Under Axle Kit For Car-mate Gooseneck Trailer
Question:
Good Afternoon, Im contemplating taking my #6000 axles which are mounted under the leaf springs and putting them on top to raise the trailer up and install larger tire/wheel assembly and heavier brake assembly. I do not haul cars, so being so low to the ground is not essential. Maybe even upgrade to #7000 axles which I have reviewed on your website. Your thoughts?

The over-under conversion kit you need for your 6,000-lb axles is part # K71-385-00.
This kit is designed to work with 3-inch diameter axles and includes the spring seats, nuts, spacers, U-bolts, and plates. Please note that raising the trailer will make it more susceptible to sway.
When you decide to go with larger wheel/tire assemblies you want to make sure you keep at least 3-inches clearance between the fender and the top of the tire, and you will want to make sure you match the wheel bolt pattern of your hub. I have attached a couple of helpful articles on tire sizing and also how to determine the wheel bolt pattern of a wheel.
The only 7,000-lb axles we offer are the Timbren axle-less. We do not have any with a lift with that capacity. The axle-less systems we offer for 7K have either a straight spindle or with a 4-inch drop. I have also attached a link to the axle-less systems we offer.
