Recommended Bike Rack for Mercedes Sprinter 3500 RV
Question:
I have a 2017 Mercedes-Benz 3500 Sprinter Van dual rear wheels, a Pleasure way RV. I need to be able to access the back, opening the doors to remove the external water hose and hydro extension. Its not like I need to load large boxes or suitcases as the only storage space available is under the rear bench seat. While travelling, I may access the back twice while setting up or taking down. I dont like the idea of a tilt-down rack.

We will carry a bike rack that will fit your 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500. However, the SportRack Ridge Swing 4Bike Rack, # SR2415, is not rated for use on a RV.
The attached link will take you to the all the bike racks that we carry that are rated for use on the rear of RV.
The racks that are rated for use on RVs will not swing or tilt due to the fact that these features would be weak spots on the rack and could cause the rack to fail.
I recommend the Curt # C18085. It is lightweight which makes mounting and un-mounting the rack in your Sprinter's hitch a lot easier then on some racks. This rack can carry 2 bikes up to 90 lbs total and the rack can mount in a 1-1/4 or 2 inch trailer hitch receiver.
Due to the fact that a bike rack on the rear of RVs are under more stress than on the rear of the a typical car or truck, manufacturers only have a few bike racks that are rated for RV use. If you deiced to use a standard rack and the rack fails, the manufacture will not warranty that rack.
