Question:
I have a 2016 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2foot bed. I would like to install the Reese Rail Kit RP56034-53 and a Curt E16 fifth wheel hitch mating up to a Reese Revolution Pin Box. Will this combination work on my truck to give the proper cab to trailer clearance? Thanks

First of all, the Custom Install Kit # RP56034-53 is confirmed to fit your 2016 Ford F-150 that has a 5-1/2 foot bed and the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16115 will fit into the base rails and work great with a Revolution pin box. You'll also need the wedge # C16991.
To determine if this will give you enough clearance to make a full 90 degree turn you'll have to do a little measuring and a little math. You'll need at least 4 inches to safely make a turn on most trailers.
First determine where the center of the Curt hitch will sit. It should be an inch in front of the truck's rear axle. Measure from here to the back of the truck's cab. This is figure A. The arm of a Sidewinder is 22 inches and we'll call this B. Then you need to measure the width of your trailer's nose and divide it in half. This is figure C. To find how much clearance you have add A and B then subtract C. So the formula looks like this:
(A + B) - C
If you're left with 4 or more, then you'll have enough clearance to make 90-degree turns.
