Can Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag be Used on 2013 Toyota Sienna with Spoiler

Wondering if this particular item places any added stress to the spoiler on the hatchback since the straps will need to tighter down to the roof racks? Also would you need a light to illuminate the license plate on the bag when traveling? Were planning on driving to ID from OK in 4 weeks. Thanks

Because of the size and design of the rear spoiler on your 2013 Toyota Sienna, I do not recommend using the Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100B90 referenced in your question. As you mentioned, tightening down the straps on the bag will put too much stress on the spoiler, potentially leading to damage on the vehicle.

Another option I recommend looking at is a roof back like the Rightline Gear Sport 2 Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S20. This will actually provide a slightly larger cargo space of 15 cubic feet when compared to the Saddlebag and it can mount to either a roof rack or bare roof. The bag itself is 44 inches long, 36 inches wide and 19 inches tall. It is made of waterproof material with woven polyester and PVC inner layer that well help to keep your cargo clean and dry.

I have attached a demonstration video on this product for you to check out.

When using this or any rooftop bag, I recommend the Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad # RL100650. This non-skid pad will protect your Honda Pilot from scratches and prevent sharp objects inside the bag from dinging the roof.
