2 inch Drop Ball Mount with 2 inch Hitch Ball Recommendation

Question:

Hi, Chris R. answered all my questions last time and I want to thank him for his very detailed and informative answer. We purchased everything except the ball mount so far. Ive measured from the top of my hitch receiver and it is 18. That is also the height of my trailers ball cup. I need a Class III that can handle 5000lbs. That is my vehicles capacity and I will not be towing over 3500lbs or so. It does require a 2inch receiver and ball. I appreciate anything you can recommend for this application. Sincerely,

When you measure the trailer you want to measure from the bottom lip of the coupler down to the ground when level.

So if you measured from the inside of the ball of your coupler down to the ground most likely you'd need 2 more inches of drop than what you came up with. The Curt ball mount part # C45036 has a 2 inch drop, fits a 2 inch hitch, and comes with the ball installed already so it would be ready to go. It has a 7,500 lb capacity too.
