When using a 5th wheel hitch like the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 18,000 lbs # DM8550034, the slider jaws on the bottom don't need extra grease. I reached out to my contact at the manufacturer and he said there normally isn't a need to add grease to that part of the system, but some people choose to. If you do add grease, he recommends maintaining it so that there isn't extra build up due to that extra grease. It technically will help a little if maintained well, but they don't suggest it because the build up if not maintained correctly could cause problems.
