Question:
I have a 11 Toyota Highlander with the V6 Towing Prep Package. It includes a pre-wired harness. What does this mean? What do I need? I cant find the factory installed harness, do u know where it is?

By Pre-Wired Harness, Toyota means that some, but not all of the wiring has been ran to provide a trailer connector.
If the vehicle does not already have the 4-pole connector at the rear bumper, you will need part # 118449.
Installation is pretty simple. The harness has two parts, the converter and the 4-pole connector itself. The converter plugs in under the dashboard, and the wiring harness with the 4-pole connector on the end plugs into the connection point located under the floor, in the cargo area at the rear of the vehicle. There is also a fuse that will need to be placed in the power distribution box in the engine compartment.
I will provide you with a link to the installation instructions, as well as an install video showing the harness being installed on a 2010 Highlander. The procedure would be identical to that on your 2011 model.
