Recommended Trailer Hitch, Wiring, And Ball Mount For 2009 Subaru Imprezza
Question:
I have a 2009 Subaru Imprezza. I want to install a trailer hitch to tow 3 motor cycles on a trailer. Which one of the 5 you advertise can tow that capacity, maybe 500lbs?

For your 2009 Subaru Impreza, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # DT24959 for a hatchback or theCurt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4"
Item # C11317 for a sedan (excluding the WRX STiModel). Both hitches are rated for 2000 lbs towing and 200 lbs tongue weight max.
For your ball mount, I recommend the Draw-Tite Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitch # 3593. For a hitch ball I recommend # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball to match your trailer coupler.
For your wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118464 for a sedan and the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56111 for the 5 door wagon excluding the WRX and WRX STi. These harnesses connect to the factory wiring at your tail lights and draw power from your battery to protect your system from overload. You can use the attached article to assist in running that power wire.
