Recommended 2 Stage Regulator For 2 Propane Tanks On Travel Trailer

Question:

I have an older model 20foot travel trailer and it has 2 propane tanks on the front of it. I was wondering if I can use this regulator with the 2 tanks by just adding a T on top to connect the 2 hoses? I believe this is what they did with the old setup. Also would I have to leave both tank valves open at all times or one tank open and one closed? Thanks a lot

The Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 160,000 Btu/Hr # CAM59313 does allow you to use the 2 tanks only if you install a T like you stated. You would be able to choose if you wanted one tank open and one closed or if you wanted both on.

You may want to consider the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005. This regulator has a gauge to help you know when one cylinder is empty and has the ability to automatically switch between the cylinders for uninterrupted flow. This is designed so that no T is needed and you have the really nice green to red gauge. This is my recommendation for your application.
