Question:
Hi, Thanks for a very informative site. I have been looking at the Weigh Safe class V adjustable ball mount hitches. I have a 2017 Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab with the 64inch bed and I want to buy a hitch that will cover a variety of possible future trailer height scenarios. The top of the 2.5inch hitch receiver is roughly 24.5inch off the ground. That would seem to me to mean that I should get a 10inch to cover all the possible common trailer heights but I have read some stories of people with 2500s talking about the larger hitches hitting things like curbs, etc. Also, my measurement is in the unloaded state, so I know it will settle once loaded, but I dont know what that amount would be typically. What would you recommend in terms of a good all-around height for my setup: 6 or 8 or 10 inches? Regards,

For what you are looking for the best option is going to be the Weight Safe Ball Mount part # WS10-25 that you referenced. It fits a 2-1/2 inch hitch, can do a drop of 10 inches, and even has a couple ball sizes to give you even more flexibility.
