Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2011 Nissan Murano

I have a 2011 Nissan Murano not Cabriolet I am looking at buying the curt class hitch #13577. My question is whats the difference in the two wiring harnesses recommended for this hitch. One is $ and the other is $$. Please explain why one is ore money than the other and if it is worth it to get the more expensive one. Thank you.

Starting with the trailer hitch for your 2011 Nissan Murano, the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 13577 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit this vehicle and is a great choice. This will provide a 2 inch receiver with a towing capacity of 4,000 pounds. I have attached an installation video on your Murano that you can use for reference.

As you mentioned, both the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118653 and the Curt T-Connector # 55571 are confirmed to fit your vehicle and will provide a 4-Way connector to activate your trailer's signal lights. Both of these harnesses install the same exact way, using the built-in ports behind the trim panels in the cargo area on your vehicle, and include a powered converter to reduce strain on the wiring system. The price difference is simply based on the brand name and manufacturer.

I recommend going with the Tekonsha, as they specialize in wiring harnesses like this and it actually offers a slightly higher maximum amperage when compared to the Curt alternative. I have included an installation video for the Tekonsha Wiring Harness on your vehicle for you to check out.

One final item you will need to tow a trailer is a ball mount. I have attached an article that explains how to choose the correct size in order to tow your trailer level as well as a link that will take you to our available selection.
