The Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier w/ Hitch Mounted Load Extender # DTA944-968-924 that you referenced would fit and work on a 2006 Ford Ranger like what you have.
This carrier comes with one foam block but an similar additional block, # MPG158 can be purchased.
Tie-down straps are not included with the # DTA944-968-924. You can purchase tie-down cinch straps like part # TH521 to secure the kayak.
