There is no direct plug-in 7-way for your 2016 Toyota Highlander but it is possible to add one by first installing a 4-pole harness. You can then add our 7-way install kit # ETBC7 which includes all components needed to have a fully-functioning 7-way trailer hookup on the Highlander.

The linked page show you all 4-pole kits for the different versions of the Highlander. For example, if you do not have a factory tow package with a converter under the dash you can use aftermarket kit # 118449 from Tekonsha. To this you will then add the # ETBC7. You will then have a fully-functioning 7-way with all lighting circuits plus brake, 12V power and reverse light circuits.

The # ETBC7 also includes the parts needed to install a trailer brake controller like the popular and reliable Prodigy P2 # 90885, as shown in the linked video.
