Will Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Platform 2 Bike Rack Work With 2014 Jeep Compass
Question:
Hi, I have a 2014 Jeep Compass Latitude and I was wondering if the following items would fit my vehicle: HR1450-85 Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Platform 2 Bike Rack w/Cargo Carrier - 2inch Hitches - Frame Mount - HR1450-85 $494.98 75712 Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch - 75712 Also, if these are a fit, can you please let me know if I would need anything else for installation of the hitch? Anything in terms of cooling the engine or transmission? I would like to be able to carry 1 or 2 bikes and some cargo nothing excessively heavy - possibly bike trailer that folds flat, med size cooler, 2 lawn chairs. Ive been looking on the Mopar site but the trailer hitch receiver ion for Jeep Compass is very minimal and only offers 1 1/4inch which I believe would not work for this Hollywood rack. Thank you,

The Draw-Tite Hitch # 75712 is a good fit for your 2014 Compass. The measurement you need to be aware of is the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the bumper. When the # 75712 is installed you will have a distance of 6 inches form the hitch pin hole to the back edge of the bumper. No drilling is required when installing the hitch but the rear fascia will need to be trimmed.
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z-85 has a distance of 8-1/2 inches form the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier, so you will have the distance you need to clear your bumper. This bike rack with this carrier has a weight capacity of 50 lbs per bike and the cargo basket has a weight capacity of 220 lbs when used alone and 100 lbs when used with the bike carrier.
If you are going to be carrying a lot of gear really frequently, then a transmission cooler is never a bad idea. I recommend a cooler like part # D13503. I have attached a helpful article about coolers you can check out.
