Will Installation of Draw-Tite Hitch on 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 Affect Tailgate Sensors

Does the installation of the Draw-tite hitch interfere with either the automatic tailgate sensors or the keyless go function on my 2016 GLC 300 4Matic? I plan to install hitch for my Yakima bike carrier, so from other reviews the Draw-tite option seems better than the Curt option.

I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite regarding the Max-Frame Trailer Hitch # 76082 that is confirmed to fit your 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC300. He stated that the tailgate sensors on the vehicle will still work great with the hitch installed. You will simply need to place your foot on either side of the center of the hitch so the sensors can pick up your movement. They have not had any issues with this function or the Keyless Go feature on your vehicle with the trailer hitch installed.

This is a very nice Class III trailer hitch that will provide a 2 inch receiver opening perfect for hitch mounted accessories like your Yakima bike rack. I like this hitch over the Curt product also confirmed to fit your vehicle because unlike Curt, Draw-Tite does not require the use of stabilizing straps # 18050 with bike racks and cargo carriers.

I have included the installation details for you to check out.
