Solution for Lengthening Distance Between Hitch and Boat Trailer for Launching

Do you sell any kind of a long section of metal that would fit inside my boat trailer frame so I could extend the trailer for launching on shallow ramps?

Expert Reply:

We may have a similar solution that would work. If you needed an 18 inch extension the part # HE18 would give you more length to lower the trailer into the ramp. Basically this fits into your 2 inch trailer hitch and gives you a second hitch opening 18 inches back from that. For a slightly smaller extension we have the part # C45795 which would give you 14 inches instead.

You should note that these extensions cut the capacity of the hitch they are installed in by 50 percent.
