Measurements to Use for Determining Ground Clearance with Draw Tite Hitch # 36234
Question:
I have seen a dimensional drawing of the Curt hitch C12270 for my 97 Outback wagon. I am interested in comparing it to a dimensional drawing of #36234 by Draw-Tite to determine which hitch will have less effect on my ground clearance and departure angle.

I spoke with my contact at Draw Tite about the dimensions you are looking for on the part # 36234 and he told me the following:
The hitch is not really symmetrical so I’m working off the passenger’s side bracket. From the frame to top of the receiver box is 4 ¾” and from the rear mounting hole is 10 5/8”.
