Question:
Hi, I have a 2007 5.7 Tundra with the Sport Appearance package that I bought new in Georgia... it has a receiver hitch that came installed on it, and it looks like a Class 4 hitch, given that the many mounting points go way back into the frame like Item # 41935. The sticker on the hitch says 500/5000 for ball weight and the max towing capacity, but that seems light for such a beefy hitch. Have you had this question before from someone?

Is your trailer hitch a factory installed hitch? If so I am not sure why they would put that hitch on your 2007 Toyota Tundra since all configurations that have the 5.7 liter motor have a towing capacity that exceeds 500/5,000 pounds easily.
If the hitch is bolted on then it could be an aftermarket hitch that the dealer put on. In that case you can replace it with Draw-Tite Class IV & V Ultra Frame Receiver Hitch - 2007 Toyota Tundra # 41935 which is rated for 1,200/12,000 pounds. However, you will still need to go by the vehicle towing capacities listed in the owner's manual.
