Question:
I have a tall truck camper and Im deciding on the Brophy 5-step #AS25 or Torklift 6-step TLA7506. The height between individual steps rise extended is about the same yet fully extended height from the ground are almost the same. Shouldnt the 6 step be significantly taller extended?

The Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # AS25 have 7-inches of rise between steps and an extended height of 40-48-inches. The TorkLift GlowStep Camper Scissor Steps # TLA7506 have 7-1/2-inches of rise between steps and a mounting bracket height of 49-1/2-inches when extended.
The reason the two steps have a similar overall height, despite having a different number of steps, is that the Brophy steps are almost 1-1/2-times as deep at 8-3/4-inches versus 6-inches for the TorkLift.
The most important differences between these two steps are their width, which is 24-inches for the Brophy and 20-inches for the TorkLift, and their intended use. The Brophy step # AS25 is not meant for permanent installation on the camper; it is to be used while your vehicle is stationary removed prior to travel. The TorkLift # TLA7506 is intended to allow permanent installation using the included bracket.
