Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2003 Ford Escape

Question:

I have a 2003 ford escape, was watching a video that you have about installing a hitch on that year escape. They mention using hitch # 90635. Do you have any of these available? Will purchase if you do.

I do have a solution for you, however the 90635 trailer hitch you mentioned is a Hidden Hitch product that is no longer in production.

For your 2003 Ford Escape, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75118. Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch were/are owned by the same parent company, so this hitch is very similar and will install in the same manner on your vehicle. This is a very nice Class III hitch that will provide a 2 inch receiver opening and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. I have included the written installation details along with a video on the 2002 Escape that you can use for reference.

If you are looking to do some towing, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118343 if your Ford Escape does not have the factory tow package. If your vehicle does in fact have the factory tow package, you will instead want to use the Curt # C55255. Both of these will easily install using pre-existing ports in the vehicle to provide a 4-way connector that will power a trailer's rear signal lights.

To tow a trailer, you will also need a ball mount. I have attached an article that explains how to measure for the correct ball mount that will tow your trailer level, along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
