Comparing Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket To Thule Roof Mounted Cargo Basket

I am looking for a decent Rooftop cargo basket without hurting my wallets. I like the Thule and Curt. Just wanted to get some feedback

When comparing the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 62-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep - 150 lbs # C18115-117 with the Thule Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - Steel - 49" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs Item # TH859XT, there is a slight difference is the dimensions. The Curt roof basket is longer, thinner and shorter. They have the same weight capacity of 150 pounds. The biggest difference is the fit. The Curt basket fits crossbar spreads of 22"-29" and the Thule is a little more flexible since it allows the crossbars to be between 20" and 37" apart. The Thule also offers a 20" basket extension in part # TH8591XT and optional locks in part # TH450400. They are both great baskets. Take a look at the videos to help make your choice.

Check with your vehicle manufacturer or your roof rack, so you will want to make sure you know those capacities as well before use.

I recommend measuring if you have a hatch to ensure you have enough clearance at the rear to have complete access without contact. The longer length of the Curt could be a problem with this.
