Frame Cradle and Anti-Sway Cradle Recommendation for Allen Bike Rack with 1 inch Arm

Question:

I currently have an Allen Sports Deluxe 4-bike rack model 542RR that Id like to modify to improve its performance. The biggest issue is that there are no provisions to prevent the bikes from swaying or coming into contact with each other. I am hoping that I can purchase some of your Thule or other manufacturers components to replace existing parts or add to my racks existing design. I am eyeing the cradles and anti-sway components. My rack utilizes a 1inch diameter tube. Can you make any recommendations or offer any advise? Id really appreciate it. Thanks,

The # 853-7887 is designed to fit a 1 inch diameter tube. Since the arms of your rack are 1 inch in diameter this cradle would work, and then for a strap you could get the part # 852-3006-001. For a anti-sway cradle you would want the part # 853-7758.

Question:

Thank you so much for your quick and helpful response. I don't mean to burden you but I have a few more detail questions if you don't mind. What is the length dimension of the inside of the cradle that comes in contact with the 1" tube? Does the anti-sway cage attach to the bottom of the cradle as it appears to do? Does the 852-3006-001 strap work on both the cage and cradle? How many straps will I need to purchase per cradle & cage combination?

You'd need two straps. One for the cage and one for the cradle. Both applications use the same strap.

The width of the cradle is 2-5/8 inches.

The cage attaches to the bottom of the cradle.
