If someone is determined to take your personal belongings, a lock is not going to stop them. But, if you have entwined a cable lock through your bikes, a thief will most likely move on to an easier target rather than fiddle with unwrapping your cable lock.

If you are looking for a sturdy cable lock, the Master Lock Quantum 30 Armored Steel Cable Lock # 8218DPS is a lot tougher to get through than a typical cable lock. We actually had a contest in our customer service department to see if anyone could cut through this cable with bolt cutters in less than a minute. The fact that no one was successful sold me on this lock. If a thief can't break a lock in less than a minute in a public parking lot, he/she is going to find an easier target.
