Availability of 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2009 Subaru Impreza

For your 2009 Subaru Impreza you will need to use a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver as there have been no 2 inch options manufactured. For a 2 inch hitch receiver you would have to get it custom made.

From the options that we have to choose from, your hitch receiver will depend on your model. Part # DT24959 will fit a 5-door wagon with single exhaust, part # C11317 will fit a sedan. Neither option is a confirmed fit for a WRX STi though.

You can use a hitch expander, like the Brophy # HTAD, but it will reduce your hitch receivers Tongue Weight (TW) capacity by 50%. Since both of these hitch receivers have a TW capacity of 200 this means that you will be limited to 100 lbs of equipment. Keep in mind that if the TW that Subaru says your Impreza is rated for is lower than 200 lbs then that will be your limiting factor. You will also need a Hitch Pin and Clip # PC2
