One option for a DOT approved LED reverse light is Sealed, 6" Oval, LED Trailer Utility Light, Adhesive Mount, 10 Super Diode - Clear Item # BUL78C3MB. It is 7-9/16" x 3-5/16" x 3/4". You mentioned there isn't a lot of space available. How much space do you have? There are not a lot of DOT approved reverse lights available so another option is to use light # BUL10CB with grommet # A70GB and bracket # BK70BB and pigtail # A49PB. Then you can mount the light in the bracket off of the frame.
