Question:
Looking to get new tires for my 2014 Forest River Flagstaff 30foot TT. I want to know which is better, a bias ply tire or a radial tire? I currently have bias ply and havent had any issues so far. A friend of mine has the exact same tire on his TT and had 2 of them blow out on a trip we took together last month. I forget what brand they are, but he said the tire company wont stand behind them as far as a warranty and his RV Service Center told him those tires that came from the factory are junk, which is why Ive decided to replace mine. I keep hearing that the radial st tires have a smoother ride but I want to know what your professionals would recommend and if radials are better than the bias plyThanks!

Since radial tires flex more than bias tires, they generally have better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear. They also run cooler than bias tires do, especially when under a load, so radials tend to last longer. While bias ply tires can be useful for off-road applications like farm use, radials are generally preferable on the highway and for long trips. If you're going to replace your tires anyway, I do recommend going with radials.
If you'd like to send me your tire size, I'll be happy to make a recommendation for you.
I've also attached a couple of links for you to check out. One is a list of our radial tires, and the other is a tire FAQ page.
