Question:
I have 07 GMC Sierra w/ 4.8l engine and small rear end so tow capacity is only 4800lbs. I towed travel trailer this weekend and temp went to 190 on road and then 212 in drive way. WIll this unit work on my truck? Will I need anything else for install? What should I expect in temp reduction? Thanks for your help!

This Derale Series 7000 Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13105, measures 16-5/8 inches wide by 12-5/8 inches tall and 3/4 inches thick. You will need to do some measuring in front of the radiator that is in your 2007 GMC Sierra. If you find that you have enough clearance there to install the # D13105 cooler, then it would work well for you.
You will also want to purchase a Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, part # D13018, so you will not have to cut or flare any lines to install this product.
You should notice a significant reduction in transmission fluid temperatures. It is hard to say exactly how much of a reduction in transmission fluid temperature you would see, but due to the large size of this cooler you would most likely not see the temperatures ever go over 190. In most circumstances, it would probably stay around 170 degrees.
I attached an FAQ article below on transmission coolers for you to check out also.
