How to Determine How Much Weight a 2009 Chevy Suburban LL Can Tow

So I have a Suburban LL 2009 Chevy and just bought a Jayco Trailer 2000 the weight on the car is 05683 and the weight on the trailer is 3400. I am trying to see how much weight I can load in the Suburban and the trailer for a long trip.

The most sure way to determine how much weight your vehicle can tow is to use the spec sticker, usually found in the driver's side door jamb, to find it's gross combined weight rating (GCWR). This number tells you the maximum weight that everything can weigh including the Suburban, the trailer, and everything that's in or on both of them.

Once you have the GCWR take the Suburban to a certified scale and weigh it with it loaded just as it will be when towing. Then subtract the number on the scale from the GCWR and you're left with what it will be able to tow when it's loaded like you had it. If you weigh it unloaded your numbers won't be accurate.
