Part Needed to Convert 1999 Ford F-350 Trailer Wiring From 6-Pole to 7-Way RV Blade Type Socket

I have a 97 Cardinal 5th wheel and 99 f350 dually. The truck currently has a 6 pole socket mounted in pictured. What part do I need to replace this socket to 7 pole flat to plug in my 5th wheelplug? And what is the process?

You can use the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-, 5- and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM48470 to convert your Ford pickup from a 6-pole connector to the 7-way blade type connector (and you'll get a 4-pole and 5-pole flat included) or you can use the 7-way-only part # PK12-707E. Both have screw terminal connections on the back to allow you to join your existing wiring.

The linked article on trailer wiring shows you the function format for 5th wheels. You can use a tester like # 40376 to confirm the function carried on each wire on the truck which then lets you connect each to the appropriate pin on the new socket.

Dielectric grease # LT37534 applied to the terminals after wire installation will help block entry of moisture and other contaminants that can cause corrosion in the future.
