Replacement Brake Assemblies for 3500 lbs Axles on 2014 Forest River Surveyor Cadet 201 Trailer

I have a 2014 Surveyor Cadet 201. The break on right side looks like some damage to the magnet and the shoes look worn compared to the other three wheels. When Im not moving everything seems OK. I start to go down the road I get trailer disconnect. I was going to replace with Dexter #23-468-469. This this sound right?

A worn magnet will give you the no trailer connected message on many brake controllers. It is very possible that one assembly wasn't adjusted properly and has received more wear than the others, but I recommend testing all of the brakes with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm. Your wiring may be sending more amperage to one brake assembly if it connected incorrectly. I've attached an article on testing magnets and another on trailer wiring to assist.

For replacements the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # 23-468-469 will work well, but I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA which are just as good without the name brand price.
