To determine what replacement brakes and bearings are needed for your 1980 Red Dale tandem axle trailer you will need to measure your current brakes and remove your hub to look at your bearing part numbers as Red Dale is no longer in business.

To measure your brakes you will need to measure the diameter from one pad edge to the other pad edge and then measure how wide the brakes are. I have attached a video review for our Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA where our video team member goes over how to measure your brakes. You can either let me know what you find or you can search through our linked selection of brakes.

For bearings you can remove your hub and check to see if the part numbers are still on them. If they are then you can simply filter through our linked selection of bearings and choose the correct ones for your application. If you cannot find a part number then you can use a Digital Caliper # 301-17068 and measure the C and D parts (see attached picture) of your spindle to the 3rd decimal place, like 1.750. Since people will typically change our their grease seal with their bearings you might as well check for a part number or measure part B of your spindle and the inside of your hub where the seal sits for a replacement.

To pack your bearings with grease you can use the Powerbuilt Deluxe Bearing Packer # ALL647646.
