How to Avoid Spoiler Contact When Installing the Support Strap # 18050 on a 2017 Volkswagen Golf
Question:
Curt strap 18050 for bike rack on 2017 GTI. The strap when tightened pulls down on the plastic spoiler at the top of the tail gate. Can this be avoided?

Since there are no specific instructions on how to install the Support Strap # 18050 you can get a little creative.
If you are afraid of damaging the spoiler on your 2017 Volkswagen Golf then I recommend installing the clip part of the strap in the bottom side of the trunk as you can see another customer did in the attached photo.
