Trailers can come equipped with a variety of vents depending on the options that were selected when it was initially purchased. Dutchmen will normally provide literature on the specific appliance and fan models with the purchase of the trailer. If you no longer have this documentation, we should still be able to help you find a replacement.
To replace the entire vent, you will need to measure the existing vent so that you can make sure the replacement will fit in the existing opening. Most standard trailer roof vents are 14" x 14" or 14.25" x 14.25". Our most popular manual roof vent is the Ventline # V2092SP-28. If you need a powered vent, you could use the MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus, # MA00-04500K. I recommend purchasing the Trailer Roof Vent Installation Kit , # 344270KITW if you are replacing your entire vent.
If you just need to replace the lid to your existing vent, You will need to check for a manufacturer's name or a model number, which may be printed or stamped on the vent. If not, then you will need to compare the hinged portion of your fan to the available lids. There are 4 types of hinges that could be used on your vent lid; 3-point hinge, 4-point hinge, continuous hinge or universal fit hinge. I've provided a diagram showing the different hinges that should help you narrow it down.
Once you've identified your hinge, you can use the link I've provided to further narrow down the replacement lids. If you care to respond with your vent manufacturer or model and/or measurements, I would be happy to recommend a more specific replacement.
