Recommended Spindles and Electric Brake Assemblies with Parking Brake for Trailer Build

Question:

Other company has flopped, lets see if you can do better. Building a 3500 lbs trailer axle with e-brake and parking brake. Drums and back plates would be 10inch x 2-1/4 and the axle approximately 68inch from face to face. I have not been able to find that axle on your website. Can you assist?

For that axle dimension, you would need to use the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System. This will allow you to determine the distance of your hub faces and simply cut a 2 inch square bar to length to use in the integrated holes. I recommend you use the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Straight Spindle Only - 3,500 lbs # ASR3500S05.

With these spindles, you can then use the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84546UC3-EZ. For the brake assemblies that also have the parking brake, I recommend the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly w/ Parking Brake - 10" - Left Hand - 3,500 lbs # K23-086-00 and Right Hand # K23-087-00. Then for the manual parking brake I recommend the Titan Breakaway and Parking Kit for Drum Brakes # T2385200.

For your wiring, I recommend the Epicord 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box - 10' Long # 277-000141 as well as the wire for the brakes # 10-2-1 sold by the foot and the Bonded 4 Wire - per foot # 16-4B-1.
