Availability of Just the Diodes in the Roadmaster Diode Kit # RM-154

Question:

We have a 2008 Smartcar Passion that is towed behind a 2004 GMC pickup. We flat tow all 4 wheels down and disconnect the battery while towing as per Smartcar manual. It is currently hard wired from the truck into the tail lights. However, we encountered an issue where it was blowing the 10 amp brake and turn signal fuse on the truck. We arent sure why this is happening. We were thinking if we changed it from being hard wired direct to the cars taillight wiring near the connector and instead just put its own connectors on the hard wiring for towing, it would eliminate the problem as it would no longer be connected through the car. We dont tow the car too often. When we do tow, we would simply disconnect the cars connector at the tail lights and then plug in the tow wiring when needed. So, we do not need the entire wire tow kit you sell RM-154 for the 2008 Smartcar we just need two of the taillight connectors to attach to our already wired tow wiring. Do you sell the connectors by themselves? To clarify, it is the connector where the 4 wires on your wiring kit feed into the black connector and then it plugs into the Back of the Smartcar taillight so, one on each side. If sell the connectors, could you please tell me the part number, cost and how to order them. If not, any suggestions on where to find the connectors? Thank you. We believe this should resolve our issue as there is no longer anything between the truck and the Smartcar taillights. By being hard wired directly to the car, even with the battery disconnected, there must be a sensor or something in the cars system feeding back and blowing the trucks fuses. Do you think it would resolve our problem doing what we are suggesting?
