Determining What Lights are Needed on Homemade Gooseneck Trailer

I have a 28 foot deckover gooseneck that I build. I need to know what lights I need on it in order to make it legal. I currently have a set of of break/tail combo light on the back. I know I need some clearance lights, but I am not sure where to put them and what color they need to be. Thanks

The lights you need on your newly built trailer will depend both on its size and GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating).

All trailers, regardless of size, are required to have stop lights, tail lights, turn signals and reflectors. Trailers that are 80 inches wide or wider, or that are longer than 30 feet, will need additional lights and reflectors. A trailer that is 80 inches wide or wider, and has a GVWR over 10,000 pounds, will require conspicuity treatments as well. I have attached an article that explains exactly what you will need to make your gooseneck trailer legal.

Once you have determined exactly what your trailer needs, I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of trailer lights that you can look through. You can use the facets on the left side of the page to filter through different styles, colors, sizes and functions.
