What Material is on the Underside of the Softride Shuttle Pad for Tailgate Bike Transporting

Question:

Does the large size Softride shuttle pad have a felt backing, or is it vinyl that will be against the tail gate? I am concerned about it being abrasive on the paint. I dont intend to leave it on long term, just 40-50 mile one way trips and removing when back home.

The Softride Shuttle Pad Tailgate Bike Carrier for Full-Size Pickup Trucks - 61" Long # SR26457 as well as the smaller 54" long # SR26461 has a heavy duty vinyl cover on both sides. This makes the pad durable, and also won't hold water like a felt backing would. The vinyl is not abrasive to the paint and you won't have any issue with 50 mile one way trips using this product.
