Recommendation to Replace 7-Way Connector on 2007 Nissan Frontier

Question:

Hi, I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier with a trailer tow package. This includes the 7-pole Pollak style trailer plug as well as a 4-way, a brake controller plug under the dash, and a right toe kick full of wiring, connectors, and I hope relays. I’m getting ready to order a controller with the Nissan harness adapter Im OK on that. I need to replace the final 7-pole socket at the rear bumper as one to the connector prongs is completely corroded away. I have three questions for you. 1 If I just order part number PK11893 Connector Socket will my factory 7-way harness fit the round receiver/connector on the back of the PK11894 or do I need a whole item such as 118267? And 2 if this would work do you have a “plug and play” comb 7-way and 4-way that I could use. 3 Based on the above information about my factory tow package am I safe in assuming that the necessary relays are included in the original factory tow package. Thanks for your advice.

Helpful Expert Reply:

If the factory 7-Way on your 2007 Nissan Frontier is able to come apart like in the picture I have included, I recommend using the Hopkins 7-and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975. This is designed to replace the 7-Way connector on Nissan trucks and will provide you with both a 7-Way and 4-Flat connector.

If your Frontier has the factory tow package and 7-Way, all the necessary relays should be in place.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this connector that you can also check out.
