Why is Thule T2 Bike Rack not Rated for an RV?

I have a 2007 Fleetwood fiesta class A 31 foot RV. Based on the information provided you state that the Thule T2 classic bike platform rack is not rated for my RV. I saw the Swagman bike rack recommended for the RV. I currently have a bike rack similar to the swagman, however I cannot fit a Trek road bike and two beach cruisers on the rack. The beach cruisers handlebars are too wide for the rack. I would like to know why the Thule T2 bike rack is not rated for my RV. Please let me know. Thanks

The reason the Thule T2 # TH9044-TH9046 and other racks are not rated for use behind an RV is due to how rough the ride is compared to a car; the rack sits much further behind the axle which means a lot of movement. A potential solution for you is the Let's Go Aero BikeWing # B01458, which is rated for use with an RV and holds your bikes by the wheels. A hanging rack like the Swagman Trailhead # S63381 may also work if you alternate the way in which you load the bikes.

When using a hanging rack like the Swagman, it's possible you'll need a bike frame adapter bar, # 64005, if your bike is dual-suspension, has a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike. The bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack. I've added a link to a video review of the adapter so you can see exactly how it works.

I've also added links to reviews of the BikeWing and Trailhead for you to take a look at.
