It sounds like you are needing to install a 7-Way connector at the rear of your 2005 Ford E-150.
If your Ford Van did not come with the factory tow package (with a 7-way connector), then there will not be a built in socket or harness under the vehicle.
If you do not yet have a connector of any type installed, you will want to start with a 4-Way. I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56020. This is custom-fit for your Ford Van and will install by connecting directly to the built-in ports located behind the driver and passenger side tail lights. I have attached a video demonstration and the written instructions that you can use for reference.
Once you have a 4-Way installed, you will just need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit will include everything needed to install a fully functional 7-Way from the above 4-Way. I have attached an article that details the installation steps for this kit that you might find helpful. This will provide you with both a 7-Way and 4-Way connector at the rear of your vehicle to connect to the trailer.
If you need a brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is an excellent, proportional controller that will activate the trailer's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your vehicle.
