Recommended Fifth Wheel for 2017 Ram 2500 With Ram Box

Question:

I have a 2017 Ram Box on a 2500 Diesel I would like to buy a 5th wheel trailer but this seems difficult. Is there an 5th wheel that will work for my truck that is easily removable when not in use I do not have the factory rails. At first I was thinking about the goose neck with the companion but it seems you cannot use the sidewinder Thanks

You are correct in that with a Ram Box you are going to need to use a Sidewinder and that the Companion is not compatible with a Sidewinder. There are still great options available for your 2017 Ram 2500, and I highly recommend the Reese # RP30928.

The Titan is compatible with a Sidewinder and offers a 1" offset for a bit of additional clearance. It has a forged, self-latching jaw for superior connection with your king pin. Additionally, hook-up is made easier with the hitch via a 4-way pivoting head and a 9" funnel to guide the king pin into the hitch. To install this hitch on your '17 Ram you would need Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit # RP56009-53.
