We do have a variety of Weight Distribution (WD) systems that are compatible with a 2-1/2" hitch receiver like what you have on your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. I have linked our selection for you to check out.

Among the available options we have the Reese Strait-Line systems which are rated for the weight capacities that you are looking for. This system is actually one of my favorite to recommend because it is one of the few WD systems that fights sway before it happens. The Strait-Line part # RP66074 is rated for up to 12K Gross Towing Weight (GTW) and has a Tongue Weight (TW) range of 600 lbs - 1,200 lbs. The Strait-Line part # RP66130 is rated for up to 15K Gross Towing Weight (GTW) and has a Tongue Weight (TW) range of 800 lbs - 1,500 lbs.

You will want to choose the WD system with a TW range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.

If either of these systems is correct for your setup then you will also need a WD shank and a hitch ball. The Reese WD shanks that are compatible with 2-1/2" hitch receivers are parts # RP54977 (with a 5-3/4" Drop, 8-1/4" Rise) and # RP54976 (with a 1-1/4" Drop, 5-1/4" Rise). For a hitch ball that is compatible with both systems you can use the Curt part # C40030.

I have attached some demonstration videos as well as some helpful articles that you can reference.
