Accuracy of Scale on Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount w/ Built-In Scale

Question:

I am interested in the WS6-2 weight safe hitch. I have seen some reviews about the hitch showing up with the scale showing weight already on it out of the box. I really dont want to buy a product to have to hassle with an exchange.....is this a problem still with this product.....I really love the concept of this weight hitch as it would help me so much when I tow.....and does the roadmaster quiet hitch silence the rattle everyone talked about....and really is the rattle that bad?

I spoke with my contact at Weigh Safe regarding the 2-Ball Mount w/ Built-in Scale # WS6-2 that you referenced in your question. She did state that a while back there was an issue with a small percentage of the gauges on this unit, and this may have caused the issue that you mentioned with an inaccurate scale reading. She did confirm that this has since been resolved and they even switched manufacturers because of it. You should not have any issue with the scale on this ball mount.

This is a really great product that will provide an 8,000 pound towing weight capacity with the 2 inch hitch ball and a 12,500 pound capacity with the 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. The built-in tongue weight scale will help you to easily balance your trailer and give you an accurate reading of your trailer's tongue weight. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.

The Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 that you also referenced is specifically designed to prevent your ball mount (or other hitch-mounted accessory) from rattling and shifting inside the receiver. It truly does do a nice job of eliminating the rattle within the hitch and reducing a lot of the resulting noise. Just keep in mind that your hitch receiver needs to have a ring or collar around it for the Quiet Hitch to attach properly.

This is certainly not a requirement when towing a trailer, but you might find that it allows for a much quieter ride. You can also take a couple trips with the Weigh Safe Ball Mount (or other ball mount/accessory) before deciding if you might benefit from such a device.

I have included a short video demonstration on this product for you to check out as well.

Is there a weigh safe hitch that is compatible with a weight distribution hitch assembly?

Weigh Safe doesn't have any weight distribution systems but we have a tongue weight scale as part # e99044 that you can use in addition to a weight distribution system so that you know how much tongue weight your trailer has.
