Do Cargo Carriers Have to be Rated for Use on the Back of an RV
Question:
I know bike racks are rated for RV use and a regular car bike rack is not recommended. It is the same for the hitch cargo carriers? Id like to add a carrier to the rear hitch of my trailer and am thinking of C18152 Thanks.

Although a bike rack must be rated for use on the back of an RV, a cargo carrier does not. The 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18152 will work for you. This carrier has less moving parts than folding versions which is ideal for use on the back of an RV because bike racks and cargo carriers mounted on the back of an RV have much more movement and stress in comparison to bike racks and cargo carries attached to the rear of a passenger vehicle due to the distance from the carrier to the axle.
The Curt cargo carrier has an angled shank that elevates the platform for better ground clearance and easier loading. The carrier has a 500 lb weight capacity and a 60" long x 24" wide surface area. This carrier is designed to be used with 2" trailer hitch receivers. In order to lock and secure the carrier to your RV, I recommend taking a look at the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # 63232.
I have attached a review video of the non-folding cargo carrier and hitch lock for you as well.
