Dimensions of Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier to Determine Amount of Available Space on Roof Rack

Question:

Hi, I am looking for the length of the horizontal tubes that would run parallel to the roof rack bars that is, the tubes that make up the bottom part of the J. NOT the metal piece that is used to fasten the rack. I am trying to figure out if I can strap my SUP flat on my roof rack and still have room to fit the TH834. Thanks

I took a few measurements of the Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier, part # TH834, for you. I've attached a diagram that shows them.

The furthest two points of the J are approximately 14-1/2 inches apart - Red Arrow
At the center of the J the ends are about 13 inches apart - Green Arrow
At the bottom the bars are about 7-1/2 inches apart from the center of each bend - Blue Arrow
