Why Does Wishbone Trailer Wiring Harness A40W5B Have Extra Brown Wire
Question:
I wanted to know why after purchasing a 6 pin harness connector for my Nissan, it has only 5 wires coming out of the original pigtail lead clip?

I could not find etrailer order history for you based on either your last name or your email address so I do not know which vehicle wiring harness you have. The linked page shows the 4-pole trailer wiring kits we offer for your 2008 Nissan Sentra. This is the only type of wiring kit we have for this vehicle.
Some trailer wiring kits will use dual running light wires to avoid the need to splice and run that circuit's wire across the sides of the trailer. These are called wishbone harnesses and they do have an additional wire even though there are not actually more circuits.
As an example, part # A40W5B is a wishbone-style 5-pole flat trailer-side connector that has TWO brown running light wires. Although this connector only support 4 separate (the white wire being ground) there are actually 5 wires coming out of the plug.
